I was wondering if there are any MD/MBA applicants or current students that wouldnt mind answering some questions for me.

First off, what do you think are the advantages of this program? Are you planning on practicing as a physician, going in to medical administration, or both?
Secondly, do you see an advantage to applying to both programs at the same time (with your initial med school app), or did you/will you wait until your second year of medical school to apply?
And lastly, what disadvantages do you see with the program? Will the increased workload hurt your clinical experience? Does the application hurt your chances at the medical school to begin with?

Thanks in advance for any help you give. I know I have many questions, so please dont feel like you have to respond to all of them. Also, please only respond if you have experience with the situation. I don't need a "well, my boyfriends cousin once thought about applying, so...." kind of answer. Thanks! 👍

EDIT: I just found a website specifically on MD/MBA programs. If your interested in the topic, check it out at http://www.learnlink.emory.edu/~mward04/programs.html

*BUMP* I'd like to know too.

i may be interested in the system management side of health care, though im not sure at this point. the strength of MBA programs was a factor in my school list, but i dont have plans on applying after my first or second year.
