I am not going to be a student at UNE quite yet, but am going to apply. I am hoping to apply to most DO schools, since have struggled with the GPA in undergrad, although currently enrolled in graduate work for a PhD, although i was only hoping to boost the GPA and have a solid foundation in the health sciences (classes). I am also worried about the MCATs, will take them this summer. By the time I apply I should have a Master's, but I am still worried about my past that is haunting me, and again the MCATs that have yet to take. Any suggestions?
    thank you

    He Myocote21,
I am from CT. I have a horrendous under
grad GPA. 2.9 overall, 2.6 science.
However in the past two years my science
and overall GPA has been steady at 3.99.
I took the mcat in 4/99 and obtained a 29-O.
A word of advice. STUDY HARD! I studied
for six months non stop for the mcat. I
realized that my gpa was bad and that the
mcat and a steady gpa improvement was my only
hope. To study I was given the Kaplan books
from someone who took the course, you may be
able to find these same books on Ebay.
(Giving out some classified information here)
lol. I also made tapes from highlighted
text material that I wasn't that concrete
with, things like hormones there actions,
physics equations. I listened to these tapes
when I jogged and went in my car. I hope
this helps. What you have to realize is
that the mcat is a competition. If you
continually tell yourself "Would the majority
of other people be studying this much? If
you think they would be, then your not
studying enough." lol, but it's true.
    Study, study, study.
    Good luck,
    Tim

Got accepted late January and sent in my deposit on Feb 1st! I'm still waiting to hear from PCOM and UMDNJ, but I will most likely attend UNECOM in the fall. I really liked the student/faculty atmosphere. Hope to meet some of you in the fall!
