Long story short, the professor who I have talked with about writing an LOR and know fairly well (and whom I like) gave me an B+ this semester. Although I have yet to give him the concrete LOR packet and information. I was planning to use his LOR, but now am having second thoughts because of the grade. Would schools look at me weird saying as I have a plethora of A and high A grades to get letters from, but stuck with someone who gave me one of the lowest grades on my transcript? The professor was outside of the sciences, so I was planning for the LOR to be one of the non-science letters. Good to go or should I look into using a different professor who does not know me nearly as well, but with a higher grade?

Note: the other professors I have writing my 'teaching' letters are both from my majors (sciences) and had excellent grades in. LORs from research will be excellent.

You dont have to get an A+ in every class that you get a LOR for. getting a B is fine remember they are speaking to many others things besides this kid got an A. There are many qualities they are looking for that can be spoken about whether you got an A or B dont worry about it. not everyone has 4.0😉

I agree with Elijah, go for it.

The guy knows you, so presumably he's not out to stab you in the back. As such, I doubt he'd focus on the fact that you didn't ace every test. I'm sure there are plenty of other positive things that he'll be able to talk about it - stuff that comes from the fact that he knows you.

No professor gives you grades, you earn them....

unless its a blow off class.

Regaurdless of what grade you EARNED, any decent professor who is well versed should be a wise choice for a LOR.

I agree. I had my English instructor, who gave me a B+, write me a letter. He told me he wrote a very strong letter.
