hi, this is hypothetical, but suppose i shadowed a doc who went to uFlorida undergrad and medical school, and I was applying there, and I got a letter from him, would his letter carry any more weight with thier adcom than a doctor that graduated another school, assuming the letters said the same thing?

Maybe if they knew your recommender.. It cannot hurt to have a letter from a alum, regardless of whether the ADCOM knows the name.

I would like to think it helps - I got my PI from my internship last summer to write one for me (he went to Jefferson). I got an interview invite :D and my interviewer read my rec letters in front of me as he hadnt read them b4. He congratulated me, said they were wonderful (1st time I got that). So I think it helps u stand out.
