Hey everyone,

I am getting a LOR from the PI that I do research for, but she is also a dentist. Can this count as my dentist letter or do you think it's wise to get another dentist letter not related to research? I also have letters from 2 academic professors, so 3 total so far.

Thanks!

the letter from a dentist should probably be from someone you shadowed with. if you shadowed your PI as well as do research for him then it shouldn't be a problem. if you didn't you should probably get another letter from someone you shadowed.

the context of an LOR from a dentist is one whom you have shadowed. it's like if you mow the lawn for a neighbor who is a professor, but you never took a class with them, would that professor's LOR count for you? magic 8 ball says "very doubtful"
