Would a letter of recommendation from a psychiatry program director dually boarded in neurology count as an LOR from a neurologist? - due to COVID elective/audition rotations and thus LORs are not easy to come by. Currently have 1 LOR from a neurology attending and hoping this could count as a second

Im sure you can use this as a LOR but it will not carry as much weight as a letter from a doctor that is actively practicing neuro. Addiction psych is not neuro

The reason it won't be as valuable is bc other neurologists likely will not know this physician and will not be able to evaluate the importance of their recommendation.
