I am finishing up a research year and planning to return to 4th year and the 2010-2011 match. Will the fact that it did my core rotations over a year ago tank my chances at good LORs? I have tried to keep in touch with some attendings, but what if they don't remember me?

Shouldn't be a problem at all. You should get your LORs from your Sub-I and elective attendings in your specialty area anyway. A super strong 3rd year letter is fine but most people get them from their 4th year rotations anyway.
