Hey,

I was wondering whether it would be better to get an LOR from the physician I did a 10 week summer research program with (40 hrs/week) or a professor who I have had for 4 classes over the period of 1.5 yrs.

I would agree with everyone else, that you should have both people write you a letter of rec. However, if for some reason you must select one, take the one you think will do you the most justice. Go with the person who knows you the best and will thus likely write a more thorough, articulate letter for you.

Thanks for your guys responses. The reason I wasn't sure about both is because I already have an excellent committee letter; a good letter from a prof I had in class, student taught under, and did research with; a humanities prof, and another science prof (the one mentioned above), one employer that I did tutoring and student teaching for, and another employer that I worked for as a home healthcare aid.

So the reason I was wondering which one would be better is because I am not sure how many LORs schools will accept. 🙂

But like AJNAK said, I guess I will have to go with the one that I feel knows me better...
