Lost accreditation- what to do?!?!

Hello everyone! My school just lost it's accreditation TODAY! They didn't warn any of us as I suspect the dean was trying to keep it all under wraps. The AAMC says that this happened once before and they tried to help everyone get placed into other accredited schools but we don't have any details. Anyone know anything about this? Do schools take transfers at this point? Is the AAMC telling us the truth? How should we proceed? If anyone has any info please share. I am a 3rd year who has already taken and passed the STEP 1! Thank you!

Wow, I'm sorry that happened to you.

Apparently, according to that letter, it has happened before, and students were given an opportunity to transfer to a different school. Hope it works out!

program. We believe similar assistance will be provided to SJB students who seek it."

Without LCME accreditation, students are unable to register for the NRMP match as sponsored applicants. As in, they won't be treated as US allopathic students by residency programs. I'm actually not sure if their degrees count for anything at the moment...
