Hello.
I need advise on helping me decide if I should take the Usmle step 1 when I have a low comlex score? Can you also share your input on how to study effectively for preparing for Usmle Step 1? Thank you.

IMHO, I don't think there are any pros to taking the USMLE unless you are reasonably sure you will do well. Definitely invest in multiple NBME tests and make sure you are consistently achieving your target score before sitting for the test.

If you take the USMLE and do well, you may have a better shot at some allopathic residencies.

This post has some good advice.

As far as how to study, the Step 1 experiences thread is full of advice from students who just took the exam. Spending some time in the Step one forum will help get you on track. Tracking down "Taus' plan" is a good place to start.

Good luck.
