So I just got my MCAT score back and was not very happy with it. It is 507 (126, 128, 127, 126). I am not sure if I have time to retake it to apply this cycle, nor do I really want to. I have a 3.9 cGPA and 3.89 sGPA. I am not opposed to going to a DO school but was wondering what my chances of getting into MD state schools were if I lived in Georgia? I am also unsure of which DO schools to apply to...My EC are good, I have a lot of shadowing, research, volunteering, and job experience working in a clinic. I am most worried about my MCAT score :/

I think @Goro posted this for another person who has similar stats to you just a few hours ago. His list was:

Rosy Franklin

Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)

Loyola

WVU

Rush

MCW

SLU

Creighton

Albany

NYMC

VCU

Tulane

U VM

Oakland-B

Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)

Netter

Your state school(s).

Any DO school. I can't recommend Touro-NY, or LUCOM, for different reasons

👍👍👍

MCG matriculants had a median 509 and 25% 504 (acceptees had a 510 and 505)
Mercer matriculants had a median 505 and 25% 502 (acceptees had a 507 and 503)

MCG is the only state school in georgia, and obviously by your stats, you should apply there.
Mercer is private, but has state school attributes due to mission, and by your stats, you are competitive there.

I would apply DO if you think you would actually attend a DO school if you interviewed at MD and didn't get in during the same application season. Otherwise you are wasting money.

Ok, thank you so much! I would definitely attend DO school if I got in so going to apply! not sure my chances with state school but that is my number one choice, but PCOM is definitely another place I would love to go to as well.

PCOM (both schools)
LECOM (both schools)
CUSOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
NSU-COM
ACOM
ok thank you so much! I am scared MCAT not good enough for PCOM GA campus, hearing it is getting more competitive but definitely going to apply since is my top choice for DO.

I think you have a really good shot at MCG and at any DO school! Your GPA is awesome and your MCAT is pretty good.
