Scored a low 213 on step 1. Wondering if I realistically still got a shot at getting into general surgery?

Per the most recent charting outcomes, 2/3 US MD general surgery applicants matched with a step 1 between 211 and 220, so it's possible. What's the rest of your application like?

Thanks a lot for the quick and helpful response. I just started 3rd year. Don't have much else in terms of activities or research. No grades in yet for third year. Was top 10% of my class during the first two years.

I'm not going into gen surg so my insight is limited, but if you do well during 3rd year and get some research in the field I'd think you have a reasonable shot if you apply broadly. Also, kill step 2 CK.
