Hi all,

Can anyone tell me how AAMC or schools handle lower division premed coursework (the BCPM stuff) taken while one is in a grad program? Are these lower division courses recorded with the undergrad GPA, the grad GPA? Are they kept with the science undergrad GPA or lumped separately?

If I am a second bachelor's student, going for another undergrad degree (a BS this time; I got a BA the first time), does this count as undergrad or grad?

I'm applying for both types of programs, but I don't think I'll get into the grad program in biology because I don't have all the lower and upper division pre-reqs.

Hey, it's snowing outside . . .

I am not quite sure, but last year when I applied, they included them in my grad school GPA because I took them as a grad student. I believe any class, upper or lower division, is considered graduate level if taken as a graduate student. You might want to check with AMCAS to see why that is though.

Hey, eccles,

I took my pre-reqs while completing my masters degree and they were counted in the "post-bacc" GPA, and in the undergraduate BCPM, since they were not graduate level classes.

any (undergrad) class you take as a graduate student, as long as the class does NOT count towards your graduate degree, should be listed as a post-bacc class and will be counted towards your UG GPA. you just have to make sure you list it as a post-bacc class, otherwise it'll just get thrown in with your graduate GPA.
