Hello everyone,
I'm currently trying to decide between UIC and Loyola for next year and would appreciate info on the quality of the clerkships and clinical training at these two schools. I know UIC has rotations at a variety of hospitals and students can learn as much as they want. This is important to me, as I'm interested in eventually working in an underserved urban area and the variety of patients at the different hospitals is a big plus. I don't know alot about Loyola's 3rd and 4th years. I like Loyola's 1st and 2nd year curriculum, though.
Also, does anyone know about Loyola's residency placement rate and where students generally apply? Does anyone know if they post their match list results online?
Finally, I have heard bad things about the 1st and 2nd year curriculum at UIC, but I've spoken with some students there and they have good things to say about it, in general. They do acknowledge having some bad teachers in some classes, but they say you learn what you need to know. Any more input about this, in particular, would really be helpful.
Thanks!
