hi everyone...

just wondering if anyone has any input on this issue. i have not yet been accepted to either school (waitlisted at loyola and just interviewed at wayne) and i am having a hard time trying to decide which school to attend. i am from michigan so the tuition is a big issue. we're talking double the amount in tuition alone to go to loyola. i mean...it's like comparing a CZ to a diamond when you talk about facilities. but what do you all think about the instruction and clinical rotations and how they compare at these two schools? bottom line...is it worth the money to go to loyola if you had wayne state as a choice?

any input would be helpful. thanks!

Hey Chopp,

I was accepted into both school and was debating as well. I guess this is what it comes down to: what do you want out of medical school? If all you want is a good education, Wayne would be the place to go, considering the cost. However, Loyola has much better (at least with my experiences) administrators. They seem much more willing to help the applicatnts and the students. The students there also seemed to be happier. At Wayne, most people commute in, go to class, and go home. Loyola has a much better sense of community with the students. Personally, I want to go somewhere where I feel completely comfortable, are able to have a good time and relax with my classmates some, and also, you can't beat their gym facilities at Loyola (not that this should make a decision for you). Anyways, it is a really hard decision considering that Wayne is so cheap (relatively speaking), but remember, wherever you go, you will be able to pay it off. This is the time to invest in yourself and go where you want, money factots aside. I hope this helps. At least this is how I am justifying going to a more expensive school.
