Extremely lucky to have my one II turn into an A but still crossing my fingers for more II. From what I can see on admit and cycletrack some schools still send out II up until February. Are those interviews basically just competing for a spot on the waitlist at that point?

It is certainly possible you could get an II. Many schools will not have technically filled their classes until prior to CYMS, or they align with those schools that don't do rolling admissions (also in March). Definitely be happy with what you have and grateful when an II appears in your emailbox.

Most people only get a single acceptance so I would just be grateful at this point.

You got a great school list from @Faha and an acceptance to one of the schools suggested on that list.
Congratulations on your success, don't look for the storm clouds when you already found your silver lining

They are still young. They don't know. Life will humble them at some point down the road.

They all obviously haven't gotten to read

The predents on reddit apparently woke up after Decision Day realizing they may need private loans... that's life today.

To be fair to the young students, the changes to financial aid will lead to life-changing decisions and they are too young to really understand all those implications.

It's similar to when I was 18 and was being tasked with managing six-figure private student loan debt.

But that's who we do it here in America for some reason and then we wonder why we have a student loan debt problem.

Coming back to these new student loan laws, this is going to trickle down to your decision to have your own kids in the future. Either you have to make doctor money to afford grad school for your kids or they are going to have to end up in careers that you could never see yourself in because you had the financial options to go to grad school. And NO, private student loans are not the answer!
