Summary: I never thought I would have the choice to pick among several medical schools, but I find myself in that situation. I'm drawn to NYITCOM-JB due to all that it has to offer, but I'm drawn to LUCOM due in part to location and the fact that it has had surprisingly good board scores and match.
Pros
- Great facilities, everything is pretty new
- Close to my support network. I have close friends in the area.
- A single, main campus, no branch campuses
Cons
- Newer school, they've had really strong match and board results, but I don't know how that will play out with P/F
- Fairly random rotation sites
- Limited community involvement from what I can tell
- Culture seems very religious and conservative
NYITCOM-JB
Pros
- Part of a more established school
- Baptist Health partnership
- Public health fellowship
- Minor scholarship offer
- Able to live on campus
- Pass/fail curriculum
Cons
- Located in Arkansas (I've never been)
- No connections in the area
- Fairly new branch campus
