Mal Practice Insurance after STEP III

Quick Question;
If you pass Step III and wants to do Sub-Intership in a hospital THEN Do you need to have Mal practice insurance to do the sub-intership ???
I am a FMG and wants to obtain some US clinical exp....

I'm not sure why Step III would have any relation to malpractice. If you practice, then you need malpractice insurance. Period.

Why would passing Step III make it any different?
