Even if that 3x a week is all on the same night, amiright!?
More likely once with each hand, once with the spouse.

I see a lot of exaggeration on a thread populated by former science nerds who I suspect actually went through long dateless stretches during college. :)

Most men want sex multiple times a day. Many of their spouses want it far far less frequently. If you can compromise at 3x per week that's awesome but as you get older, busier, have kids, stresses, that usually becomes an unreachable ideal. That's part of the reason the porn industry is a two billion dollar industry.

Is that something common among male physicians? I remember when I was working as nurse, there was a lot of stuff like that going on in my hospital between physicians and mostly nurses... There was one particular case that I was really upset about. There was one nurse on my floor and she was 23-year old and arguably the cutest girl in the whole hospital. She was somewhat a friend and she was also naive... There was that cardiologist in his early 30s who was married and he started to talk to the girl and told her that he would leave his wife, and she fell for that... The guy used her for a little over a year and dumped her... I was told by someone very close to that girl, that physician was the first guy she was intimate with. I felt so bad and wanted punch the guy. How could someone do something like that to another human being? After that happened, people started talking about him, we learned the guy has been with multiple females in the hospital within a year he was an attending there... There were other cases of attending misbehaving in similar fashion... I hope that is not something widespread
OP asked a serious question, which deserves a serious answer.

I don't think physicans are any more likely to cheat than anyone else. However, studies show that there is one characteristic that you can look for in a man that is predictive of whether or not he will be faithful. Most married men who exhibit this characteristic will cheat on their wives at some point during their marriage.

So, if you want to be sure that your future husband won't cheat on you, make sure that he doesn't have: ............a penis.

I spent a good 5 minutes trying to find statistics on infidelity among transgender individuals just to make a snarky point here, but then that turned into way too much work. Oh, sick days.

I don't understand why folks think being a science nerd in college = dateless and sexually frustrated.
It's 'cause there are more socially awkward science nerds/engineers than there are socially awkward than business/marketing/pre-law majors. It might have something to do with the fact that charisma isn't vital for achieving success in the hard sciences. Just a guess.

Yikes corporate
Don't know if I would rather work in dental corporate office for 45 hours per week or as an orthopedic surgeon for 60-70 hours per week. But kudos to those ortho boys working those hours (and neurosurgeons), I would put up a white flag within a year LOL

I feel that a lot of people would be way happier if they were having sex more often. Seriously there aren't that many activities more fun than that.
Great, now I sound like a crazed sex addict
Aren't we all? Heck we've been programed to like it over millions of years. ^_^

There was an interesting talk I heard quite a few years back. The speaker went at this notion that married people with kids, and jobs, and other stresses, should be satisfied with sex just a few times per week.
The first point was that we prioritize all sorts of things in our lives. People who like to run find time regardless of whatever else is going on. If it's important to you, you make the time. It's not as though you come home and are doing stuff just non-stop until you crash into bed. It's what we choose to do with those little bits of downtime that matter. It's harder with two people to coordinate those little bits of downtime. But if you and your spouse can't find 15 minutes to be alone in any given day, then that portends bad things for your marriage.
The second point they made was that often people get stuck trying to make sure that the sex they're going to have will be superawesome and when there isn't time for it to be awesome they put it off until the next day or the day after. Awesome sex twice a week, plus good (but maybe rushed) sex five times a week is a lot better than awesome sex three times a week and nothing the other four.

Just calling them like I see 'em. Obviously is a gross generalization-- there's always one guy doing well for himself. But unless you go to a techie school, the science guys aren't exactly the big men on campus.

Well here is a post I found on reddit http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/20ks62/hypergamy_from_a_red_pill_doctors_perspective/ there is explicit language in it

It gives the male physician's thought process and rationale for his infidelity
THAT is the famed reddit?

looks like a cesspool

i also started laughing when i read the part where he describes himself. Picture in your mind a 45 y/o cardiologist rating his face out of 10 and describing whether he is alpha or beta. LMAO

I find it very difficult to believe a man in that position would take the time to detail his experiences on a website like that.

To each their own, but from my experience these types of guys don't tend to brag about these things the way that was written.

Yeaaaah. I read the red pill for laughs sometimes, but it can be downright depressing to see that there are some people that actually think that way. If I ever find one of them in the wild, I'm going to slap his red pill face silly and tell him my hamster did it.

ALL the time. This is the way I usually do it. I like the "benign neglect" strategy at the end. Just ignore them until they go away.

I got into this for the chicks too.

Let's say that it can be described as a life philosophy characterized by lots and lots of misogyny. Think along the lines of "women are subhuman and some men are the only rational ones", "I can have sex with whatever woman I want and be awesome even if they're committed to someone else, but if my woman does this, she's scum", and "emotional abuse is not only normal and good but right". Go to the subreddit and read the top ten posts and some comments at any given time.

Do people actually believe in this? This sounds like a men's feminism... To clarify, it is not the broader demand for women's equal rights we associate with the word "feminism". I'm referring to the particular strain of ideological feminism that fails to address the consequences, for women and men, of their policies and worldview.

I mean, one part of me thinks he might be exaggerating in some ways to seem like "wolf of wallstreet". But I believe that he was having these encounters. I just don't know if I believe he stopped. .. He says so but doubtful. I also know that people talk and his wife will eventually find out. If she hasn't already and is getting her own revenge.

Meh, while I feel guys doing this aren't right, I also place the blame on the woman, too. Sometimes it's not "poor, helpless" but women who pursue this. I can't be the only one who overhears the nurses/etc talk about how they hate their spouse and talk about just finding someone else. Or the ones at bars/lounges who actively talk to guys even if they're in a relationship.
If anything, feel bad for the bartender. They're constantly seeing these head on collisions and have to act so cavalier about it.

Goes both ways darling. I overhear men at work and at the hospital all the time talking about how their spouse just doesn't "get it" or is nonstop nagging them about why they aren't home for activity XYZ and how much easier it would be to just be ****ing someone at work- less stress, more fun, etc. I feel like some of what he says is true, in that the married men who have approached me name "being attached" as one of the qualities they look for in women when they're looking to cheat.

Exactly.
I'm saying don't feel bad for the girl. It goes both ways and isn't a "male" thing. Men/Women/Wookies/coyote uglies all can be dogs.

I heard a fantastic story yesterday about residents calling their attendings and being told, "My date has already been paid for, I'm not coming in." And then they call the surgeon on backup and they are sitting next to the first attending and it is pretty clear the same stuff is going on.

Keep in mind that this is about the 70s, but still....

Attendings are out with escorts that have already been paid for. Emergency happens and resident (female) is left calling them and they tell her to deal with it.
