My advisor did a couple of rotations at this hospital. I emailed her the same question and this is exactly what she told me.
"Maricopa-This program is truly a County Hospital program. LOTS of
Pathology in late stage of disease, shoestring budget, very dedicated
faculty. You would have quite a bit of independence and autonomy.
These residents do some rotations at Mayo Scottsdale and the Mayo
residents rotate to Maricopa on electives and ICU. If you are already
going out to interview than it is worth the trip. There are two other
"community-based programs" in Phoenix, St Joseph's and Good Samaritan
which are also supposed to be pretty good."
