Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov...

Is it possible to be able to PREDICT the regiochemistry of product?
Or am I just supposed to memorize which reactions are Markovnikov and anti-Markovnikov?

basically you look out for things such as peroxides, uv light, etc... for anti mark. the rest is mark. is that what you are asking for?

Yes you do need to memorize which ones are Mark and Anti-Mark in order to be able to predict the regiochemistry of the product. Of course that being said, you also should know which electrophilic additions are anti and which are syn, knowing the intermediate helps with this.
