My dad is originally from Kinosha, WI, and says that Marquette Dental School is "really well-known" and is supposed to be a "great dental school." Bear in mind my dad isn't a dentist by training and his profession has nothing to do with dental surgeries, but he is one of the few people I know who admit to being from WI. So what's going on? Is there something in Marquette's past that makes it such a strong prorgam?

Could it be true that Marquette is such an elite school that only the likes of Tommy Boy with his rich contributor dad can get in?

Hi,

I am by no means rich and my parents are not dentists and I go to marquette. As far as dental schools go I think it is just average although, during accredation last year the DDS program was accreditted and given 15 compliments.

Its harder for Wisconsin residents to get in than other residents because the state will only subsidize half tuition for about 1/3 the class.

If you are applying to dental school, I would go to the schools and ask questions to students in each year so you can see what preclinic and clinical experiences they are having. I didn't do this and actually came to milwaukee for the first time to find an apartement after I was accepted.
