Just thought it would be cool to start a thread for MS3s who are contemplating PMR now that Match 2003 is in the books.
As a FYI here are the stats from this year's match
(http://www.nrmp.org/res_match/tables/adt2003.pdf)
PMR PGY1- 78 positions, 44.9% filled by US grads, 91.0% overall
2002- 74 positions, 64.9% filled by US grads, 86.5% overall
2001- 80 positions, 38.8% filled by US grads, 81.3% overall
PMR PGY2- 275 spots, 56.7% filled by US grads, 91.5% overall
2002- 249 spots, 53.0% filled by US grads, 90.4% overall
2001- 242 spots, 40.9% filled by US grads, 77.3% overall
PMR PGY1- #ranks per position - 4.2
PMR PGY2- #ranks per position - 4.4
From what I see, there are more US grads interested in PMR (4% fill rate increase by US grads in PGY2, and that's on top of the fact that there were 26 more positions this year versus last year). And it may be getting more competitive. My question is if osteopaths are counted in the US grads or lumped with FMGs and recerts.
