Hey y'all, first want to express gratitude for this community, you have all helped me so much.

I am blessed to be choosing between these three schools and sorting my priorities, I find that the residency matches will really help me differentiate them, but I am having trouble finding info on this. I know there are threads on these schools already but I wanted to specifically compare their match data.

I have heard that Jeff is especially good for Ortho and Ophtho. First, is this even true? Do we have similar trends for Einstein and Temple? I am currently interested in Peds, Ophtho and Palliative care (in that order), but of course this may change. I think I want to stay east coast for residency unless i somehow get into a competitive program in the west.

Thanks in advance!

Jefferson Hospital has top tier home departments in ophtho and ortho yes. That can help students match those fields because you get to work with/get letters from well known people in the field.

You can take a look at their match lists but either 3 can get you where you want. I would honestly start by looking at location (Bronx vs. Philly). Jeff has the best location of them all due to being in Center City. And cost too. I doubt scrutinizing match lists will really get you too much out of it.

I'd probably say Einstein and Jeff slightly edge out Temple overall.

Thanks for confirming! Those are helpful points.

I guess I should provide more info. I am looking to the match lists in case costs are not too different (still waiting to hear back about aid) and I find location is not too much of a priority for me....though that's part of my problem. I don't know what to prioritize in the event that costs are even. Should I consider reputation over location or patient population? For example, I am leaning towards Philly (i've been in NY/NYC my whole life and need a change) but should I deprive myself of Einstein's resources just cause I want to live in a new city? And I've heard Temple is really dedicated to inequity and working with disenfranchised communities, which I like, and Jeff attends to a wealthier population, but does that matter over that "edge" you mentioned? these are the questions whirling in my head lol i am probably overthinking....

Yeah I think you’re overthinking it a bit too much. Both Jeff and Einstein are great. Temple is in an very underserved area of Philly - it does have more community outreach but many students don’t actually like living there. Jeff is probably in the best (and most NYCish) area of Philly.

I would prioritize cost, location, specialty interest, and reputation.

Beyond that just go with your gut. You can’t really go wrong.
