Mayo-Rochester internal medicne late interview

I was wondering if anyone had some insight into this. I got an interview for Mayo categorical IM in late october/early november; I was not part of the first wave. The email I received mentioned interviewing dates in January only. Does anyone happen to know if these interview dates are designed for the candidates that may have less of a chance at matching? I am thinking these last few interview dates in January are maybe designed for "back-up" students or such. It's a long trip out to Minnesota but I am definitely grateful for the chance to interview, I am just curious what I am walking in to.

NO! Those were the dates left. No some special interview dates for their affirmative action program for ******ed medical students.

Many programs continue interviewing even into February.

As it happens I just assumed I got most of my interviews because of the above reason.
