Hey guys,
I have been reading all the postings on this forum and have learned a bunch from it! So thanks to all those who contribute to this regularly. I have a question about studying for MCAT biological sciences. I am a chem major and never lreally got to take any antomy-physiology courses as an undergraduate. I am trying ot get by with basic college biology taken in my freshman year. So I am having a hard tiem doing any better than a 8 on BS. Do any of you have great prep book (hopefully one with lots of practice passages) for biological sicences. I use the Kaplan books and the Columbia review right now and they havent helped me break the plateu....Are any of you in my situation ?? Any suggestions ?

I'm going with the new Examkrackers Biology book for my review because I have found it really tells you what you need to know, as opposed to my TPR review which seems too detailed. It has some 30 minute practce tests at the end. But if you want lots of practice I would try to get a Princeton Review Science Workbook from someone who took the course last year. It has TONS of passages and I find it very helpful for practice. Good luck.

Welcome to SDN!

I will make two suggestions. PR Verbal Science workbook probably has a lot of passages to work off from. It seems like you are using Kaplan and Columbia to actually learn the material so just getting the PR workbook may be all that you need. I really like the EK bio book...it contains free standing questions within the chapters and then is followed by an end of chap exam which contains 3 passages and a small number of free standing questions for a total of 23 questions. Its too bad EK didn't come out with their 101 bio book since this would probably be the best thing for you.

Good luck

Thanks for all the replies! That really helps since I was debating whether or not to buy the ExamKracker Bio book. Does any one have it used and willing to sell it?
