Hey guys, are there any international mcat takers out there? I'm getting pretty confused with some of the discussions because it is my understanding that the MCAT is a evaluation of what you learned during premed, at least in american schools, but I'm not sure how well students from Asian countries do. Can anyone help me on this? Is it much harder for Asian students based on any curriculum differences? I've already figured that test prep is a must (have the EK set). 🙂

I think the best way you're going to get an answer for this is to just look thru the topics covered in your EK books. Curriculum's are different within American schools as well. It's really the content of the basic sciences that remains constant across the pre-med courses and the MCAT.

comp froze, double post...

I doubt the science content will affect you much as long as you have completed the pre-reqs. Typically, the problem for international students is verbal because English is not their first language. Check out Vihsadas verbal help thread found in the MCAT Guide sticky.

For study material, I suggest:

EK Bio + EK Bio 1001
EK Verbal 101
BR (Berkeley Review) Physics
BR O-chem
BR Gen Chem

However, I'm not sure how easy it would be to get BR's material if you're living outside the US.
