If I take a review course will their phyisiology coverage suffice or is it something that I truly most learn on my own. Or what importance, if of any, is physio. to the 'cat.

That really depends on the test you get; I had about 7 questions on renal physiology alone last april. Prepare for as much Physio as you can, at the very least know the basics. Review courses are good for laying out those basics but it's not something you can't do on your own if you don't want to do a review course.
