Hey SDN! I’m applying this cycle and will take the MCAT in late March. What do you think I’ll need on the MCAT to be competitive? What are my chances of getting into med school (or DO school)?
And if good, which schools should I consider? Location doesn’t matter.
Thank you in advance to all responses!

First of all DO schools are also Med schools.

I think you stand a good chance at most DO schools as long you can get a 505+ MCAT score.

You probably need to consider get some clinical and non-clinical volunteering as well, not having any might look bad to adcoms.

Also, some DO schools require a DO letter, some just prefer a DO over MD letter, some don't mind an MD letter.

You need a DO LOR and and science + non science LORs.
Aim for 505+ for DO, 513+ for MD.
The gGPA will help for DO but not MD.

His GPAs might not be competitive for MD unless OP is a URM. Though he might get some love from in-state MD schools with a high MCAT.
