blah blah blah MCAT this, blah MCAT that.

I'll be taking the MCAT in like a year or so so that's no concern. ON THE OTHER HAND!!!!

On June 1 I'm retaking the SAT because I'll be transferrin in about a yearish. Most of yall(i assume) are supar smartiez cuz you're applying to medschool(or are already in) so by that reasoning I'm guessin ya did good on your SAT's also possibly.

Any neato tips or anything I can use to boost my score another 10-20 whoppin pts?

I took it once before in 10th grade before I dropped out of HS(different story, dont ask ) so I know what it is, etc. I know how to take tests, I don't get nervous with them, so spare me any of that info... (or dont respond at all - i'm sure i'll end up with 0 responses too

summary: any neato books, tapes, or different lines of thinking i should utilize so as to swindle a few thousands more pts for my score?

here's me kissin you in advance

I'm probably the last person you want advice from!

With my whopping 1220, I must be pretty low on a ranked SAT list of all SDN users. I imagine that if you had taken a prep course, you'd have blown the test out of the water. Because hardly anybody does this, you'd probably have had a distinct advantage. I didn't study a lick for it.

Just know who your competition is...a bunch of punk a$$ high school kids! :D You're not gonna let them whoop up on you now, are you?!?

What state are you from? Where I'm at, transfer students don't need SATs.

FL. I need SAT's for the schools I aspire to transfer too.

prep course????? HARHAR there's hundreds of dollars I don't have. Only difference between me studying alone and a prep course anywayz is that with a prep course I'm forced to go over the material however so often... UNLESS THEY KEEP ALL THE SUPAR SECRETS VERY SUPAR SECRET!

you-----> <------me•••••Oh yeah, there's no need for this! :D I'd be flattered and all, but...

It's funny that only guys have responded!

yea. s'ok. I can make with the kisses when it comes to the internet.

I read all the time about the openly gay relationships here with some of SDN's members.. particularly with Trek(he prlly has a sore bum). I figure why should I not get a part of the action

note: Kisses are definitely due all the ladies who wouldst apply. They are my priority

Those are soooo cute! I love the smooching one, and the beer one's funny too! Hmmm SAT...well, contrary to popular belief, you Can study for them. A lot of it's logic and reasoning. If you can get your hands on some practice material (books from B&N and such), practice building your vocabulary, read a lot just to build your verbal skills. the verbal is all about being able to make vocab analogies, plus reading comprehension. The math parts tend to be a bit more logic. If you have a deficiency in any area (based off your last scores), see what you need to improve on and go from there.

Note: You're not the only pre-med 10th grade drop-out :) . No SAT advice here. I sort of crashed them with no studying and pulled a 1220. Are they really that hard? You've had some college now right?

You should know SAT math now and how hard is verbal anyway? I assume you don't need like 1400+, so I would say to go buy a book, prep a lil, and you'll be fine.

Either way, getting the 1400+ will almost ensure you can get in to the schools you aspire to. I echo leorl in that it CAN be studied for. There's also a correlation between # of times and score. Not so much like the MCAT, because of the vast knowledgebase and length, but for the SAT it is about "figuring out the test." I took two PSAT and two of the real deal and my overall went up every time. Let's see if I can remember. 1040 -> 1170 -> 1330 (V590, M740) -> 1470 (V670, M800).

All but the 2nd one is accurate. I remember getting the 1040 because we were learning about taxes in economics :D

my 10th grade SAT was in the 1100's. I had like a 490 verbal on it. Was very weak on verbal then. :)

I'm not now. Been lookin over stuff and I'm wishfully thinking about getting an 800 there. haha, tis possible(not likely).

My math isn't moving much with the subsequent practice tests I've been taking. Usually 650ish, +/- 30pts

I know I can get a 1300's score. I WANT a 1500's score...

Will prolly end up 1300-1400somethin. WHICH IS FINE.

Speaking of wishful thinkin I'ma apply to Yale and Stanford in addition to WUSTL, rice and some others so higher SAT is something I sorta need. My grades and ec's will be great, but my SAT right now is my weakness(well that and dropping out of high school. )

anywayz, I kiss you all the special way
