Go for a Hotel. Hotels usually have bigger desk space. I am in NJ too.

This testing center was great! The proctors mentioned this was the most coveted site in NY and after the exam I truly believed her.

location
west of west side highway on the south end of manhattan. Take A,C,(the 1,2,3,or9 goes here also but forget which ones) to chambers and walk about 10 minutes.

Food
It is somewhat remote as it is west of the west side highway along the river so bring some food or purchase food at the deli about 2 blocks north on north end ave. they have a food court in the hotel but I did not want to wait in line with potentially 100 people. Only 2 people showed up at the deli.

What's there
You are right on the river so the one hour break can be very relaxing as you can go for a walk on the nicely done river walk. batting cages there that i wish I knew about so I could forget about my PS.

accomodations
2 people to each table and the tables are about 5-6 feet long. Plenty of room to spread out papers, pencils/pens, and elbows.about 10-15 proctors to make things move very smoothly.Conference room with no windows so no fear of noise. mints and ice water were provided. bottled water allowed under the table. very vigilante about shutting off timers/cell phones. someone's bag was removed from the room for this in the middle of the test and the owner had to get the bag after the section was over. bathrooms right outside of the conference rooms allowed everyone to use restrooms during 10 minute breaks with no problems.

proctors
The proctors were on the ball and stated that this site is highly sought after. Doors closed about 10-15 after 8 so be on time. we got out at 450pm. The head proctor was somewhat funny but tried too hard and started to be annoying. When someone voided at the end she said into the microphone "oh no I thought we were going to be 100% today". thanks for embarassing the guy even more!
