When should I sign up for my MCAT test date? New MCAT test dates tend to open up a couple times each year. The calendar for when new dates open can be found on the AAMC’s website. Now might be your chance to get the test date you want before being relegated to some testing center in Omaha, Nebraska. Seats fill up early, and some people end up traveling hundreds of miles because they registered a little too late.

What test date is right for you? This is dependent on a lot of factors, but you may want to seriously consider two of them:

(1) You will likely want to have the month before your exam date free of any outside commitments like school, leaving you the ability to pack in a month of full time MCAT prep. Think of it as MCAT bootcamp.

(2) You will want to apply to medical school as early as you can. For AMCAS that means submitting your application at the beginning of June. Since forwarding your application from AMCAS to your medical schools will take about a month, you won’t need your MCAT scores back until the end of June. This means that the latest you should consider taking the MCAT would be late May/early June.

How much does it cost to sign up for the MCAT? $310! Yep, that’s right. From here on out everything is going to start draining your bank account. From the MCAT to your medical school applications and interviews, everything is going to cost you big time. But don’t spend thousands more on a test prep company! Using our Free eCourse, you will learn how to get all your MCAT prep materials for less than a few hundred dollars! We also offer private, online one-on-one tutoring sessions starting at just $49 each! Schedule your first tutoring session to get started today!
