It's so frustrating taking these PR diagnostic exams. I seriously study as much as I can, but for some reason it's just not enough. It's so disheartening to leave an exam thinking you did well, but then only to come home, grade the exam and realize that you hadn't done as well as you thought. Some mistakes are inevitable, and those will hopefully decrease with time, but some of these questions just make me go wtf?

I just got home from taking the 4931, where i was hoping to have some improvement from previous exams on all 3 sections... I guess going up on one section and staying consistent on the other two isn't bad, but i hate to think i'm maxing out already and it's less than a month before the exam.

For those that are curious, the trend has been the following:

4911: 8b, 7p, 5v
4921: 9b, 8p, 4v
4931: 9b, 8p, 7v

Am I being reasonable to think I can somehow pull a 30 by the real exam or is that more than less a simple pipe dream. Days like today suck, because they take all motivation and drive that I have and just kinda throw them to the wayside.

I actually don't know why i'm writing all this now to put into a public forum, but i suppose venting can't really do me much harm. For those that are doing well in their respective studies, great job and keep up the good work. For those that are in the same situation as I, and ultimatimately not doing as well as they had hoped, keep on truckin'. Perhaps my theory of karma will hold true for us in that for all the good that we are doing to better ourselves and our minds, something good for us that is beyond our control may result. But i suppose there're some things that karma just can't control....All you gotta do is make sure it doesn't run over your dogma ;-) )

gotta just keep going
its the only choice you have
worst case scenario = dont do as well as you you would prefer and then take it next april
plenty of people end up going that route
good luck

I understand your frustration, but i would urge the following:
Dont be disheartened by your overall scores and overall progress, but rather focus on whether or not you are improving on material you have ALREADY covered. If you are taking a class, then go through the test and mark all the problems which cover material you have already had, then compare between tests. Also, how are you studying? Try to do as many pratice tests as you can, b/c this way you see how the material might be presented. Dont worry, and goodluck.

dude TPR diags are hard. I was scoring 20s in them....but the AAMC tests are different...much easier than those. Evaluate your performance on the AAMC tests to gauge ur preparation for the mcat.

I'm taking the TPR course too, and we just finished diag 4931. I thought I might have done better, but to no avail of course, just as it always is. I hate this feeling after having religiously studied hours and hours per day every day for the last month. I cut myself short at 19 on diag 4931. Such a horrible score. I only hope to God, or to anyone, that the next AAMC diag we have will save me. Otherwise, I'm beginning to think taking the August MCAT is not getting to be such a good idea anymore. The only thing holding me back from doing it next April is that I am 100% confident my GPA will drop with these micro classes, and right now they are at a pretty well-off range. Ugh!!! I hate this frustration.

Goodluck to the OP though. You seem to have a much better chance than me, and I think honestly that you will be able to pull 30. You're not too far off from it, given that these are not even the "real" diags.

Edit: This is really weird, but I was going to start a new thead, "MCAT Woes." That is, until I saw yours already. How coincidental.

Dude, keep working your butt off. I got 3 points improvement between diag 3 and 4. Then another 3 points from 4 to 5. I kept all but 1 point of that on the real dealio. So you're totally within striking range of 30, go grab it.

To the OP, I just wanted to concur with what others have said.

Also, have you completed the problem set books yet?
If not, what are you waiting for?
