Hi everyone,

I'm trying to select between two medical school by the end of the week, either UCF or MCG. I'm a traditional applicant who hopes to take advantage of research, have fun/go out/all the stuff younger people like to do, hopefully get on a good track for whatever specialist field I will decide to pursue (primary care didn't really fancy me during the times I've shadowed them) Here are my pros and cons for both:

UCF

Pros:
-Orlando seems way more interesting than Augusta as a city.
-A new school but exciting and vibrant in the sense that it has a curriculum that involves group based learning (something I'm a big fan of), incorporating the newest technology, and an individual research project of your choice (FIRE)
-Stats of class profile higher, so maybe classmates are more focused/motivated?
-Match list of its charter class seemed in my eyes a tad "better" than MCG's match list from this year, also very little primary care
-The beautiful campus and facilities certainly doesn't hurt

Cons:

-Still seems to be a new program, some of the things about the UCF medical complex that was emphasized on interview day seemed to be coming in the future (public health school, nursing school, teaching hospital I believe) and not relevant during the time I would go to school there
-COA will be $65,735 compared to roughly $53,600 for MCG
-They call that farce of a weight room in the medical building a gym?!

MCG

Pros:
-Will probably save me $12,000 or so per year and thus about $50,000 over 4 years
- Will be able to live less stingly and do fun stuff like go to Tomorrowworld EDM festival
-Most of the students will be more of my age compared to UCF (avg age of student is like 24.8)
-Although match list on average of this graduating class seemed a bit less impressive than that of UCF's the match list of the class of 2011 was very impressive
-Also seems to have its sights on expansion of medical education/research
-Only 2 hours from Atlanta, where a lot of my friends will remain/family is

Cons:
-Augusta leaves quite a bit to be desired in a city (events, nightlife, food)
-Feel of school not as fresh/exciting as UCF more of an older conservative feeling associated with an established school

Both:
-Students seemed to be very friendly, very happy, very enthusiastic about the school
-A/B/C/D grading scale
-Warm weather! Staying in the southeast!

Anyone with any input or any pointers to think about that I may have missed are highly, highly appreciated. Thanks for reading!
