Alright folks.... I just got off of the phone with the admissions office and the secretary told me we would recive notification tommorow. If someone for some reason does not get an email, then they can call the office directly.I hope this helps everyone out there anxiously waiting for a response from MCV.

It's 4:45 here in VA and still no word yet...hmmm I wonder if that is bad juju. I think this is maybe worse then some kind of ancient Chinese water torture. Whatever good luck people...Peace out.

I guess it's waitlist time now...man, this is way too stressful. i've been waiting since november. now i have to wait until god knows when. they said waitlist is active till day of orientation. great?! what the hell.
anyone know how quickly their waitlist moves?
and isn't is true that they are accepting like 30 more out of staters.

When are they gonna contact the people they watilisted? I thought they were doing that today too? Very confused.....this school is weird sometimes.....

I am very disappointed .

Well, although I liked MCV a lot more than I thought I would (I especially liked the 8-12 class schedule), moneywise it will be hard to not go with UNC in-state (even though comparatively they are in class ALL THE TIME...and the facilities are somewhat lacking). If I am going to shell out a lot of cash, I think that I would probably have to go with Duke. But if MCV can find a decent aid package for me, well...who knows. Hopefully the second looks at Duke and UNC will help clear things up for me.

when I caled the admins office today, I was told that the last batch of acceptances went out monday night so those of us who have not heard anything yet will "most likley be placed on the aletrnate (wait)list within the next 2 weeks". Ugh, where is my miss congeniality sash? Oh well, now on to waiting on the wait lists.....

however, i just called. they said that if i did not receive the email monday night then i will be either rejected or placed on the waitlist in the next two weeks.

Hey yall
Keep your heads up...if you really want to be an MD then it will happen. That is what I believe anyway. I have not gotten in yet either so ...I am in your boat. I am on the old waitlist...and I really believe that God will honor those who work hard for things. BUT...I look at it this way...if it was easy then no one would value it...and if you really want to do it then you will stick it out...and "stay the course" to quote a recent movie. Anyway just wanted to give my words of non-wisdom from the years of experience I don't have for whatever it is worth. Peace out. =)

received the status change notification this evening...somewhat good news i guess (if you can call an alternate list that). but is it just me, or does it seem a bit unfair of them to ask if you've been accepted elsewhere but would still like to be placed on the alternate list? i mean, they say that they have a pretty objective ranking system, but do you think it would have any bearing one way or another whether we've been accepted elsewhere or not?
also, does anyone have any stats on how many people have gotten in in the past off the alternate list?

Yes I was waitlisted also. I'm glad they gave us notification after all that waiting. Hmmm...yeah I wonder how they use the info if you've been accepted elsewhere.....seems a little fishy....

Well, I am waitlisted too. One thing that I remember is that they do have two alternate lists: one for in-state candidates, the other one for out-of-staters. I assume that out-of-state list moves much slower than in-state, if at all.

Have could have sworn (was it the day of my interview?) that someone siad that the out of state waitlist moves a lot and that if you are waitlisted and from out of state you have a really good chance of getting in. I really think someone in admissions said that but I can't remember who/what/when...it was a while ago....October....
