MCW Class of 2010, Part 3

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I once owned a medical interviewing book for 3 hours. Lemm aks you this: Are clinical contineueueum and PBL terrible or what?

Does anyone have Mike Melnick as their PBL group leader? He was awesome, and helped make the hell that was PBL somewhat bearable. In addition to being automatically cool for being an ex no holds barred fighter (like Ultimate Fighting), he was very easy to get off track by asking him to tell us stories about when he was in the Marines. If you have him, be very glad. I think we once went 3 weeks in a row without ever talking about anything on the agenda for that day.

OH it's PBL season again? The only good thing about PBL was the entertainment provided by Marc.

What kind of comment is, "You had interesting articles."

glad to have been of service. not to toot my own horn, but I don't think you can beat my insightful comments such as "sleep paralysis is basically when your body is paralyzed when you're asleep."

Once upon a time I was ahead of Andy in the post count. I guess I need to start playing catch-up.
you guys are all playing in the little leagues while indo and I are the roid-pumping heavy hitters of this thread.

Here's a handy tool so that you and Indo can finally determine who is the heaviest hitter in the M1 class. Enjoy.

yeah, that is just about long enough.

96% of asher's posts are in this forum. Time to cut the umbilical...well the surrogate umbilicus because she's a surrogate member of '10.

Oh dear God, what have I done?!

Well, what did you think would happen? Of course they're both very, very big.

I promise I won't measure anything of mine.

Or anything of theirs, either.

Best pair of exam questions ever:

#15: When determining the organism responsible, which of the following tests should be performed?
1) Bile somethingorother
2) MacConkey Agar
3) Mobility
4) Coagulase

#16: After performing the coagulase test, which of the following organisms would give a negative result?

is it weird that I actually find it EASIER to study in the library, and strangely more relaxing, with the hammering and banging? it sort of brings a sense of calm and focus.

It's really making it hard to hear some of these heart sounds, though. +pissed+

I'm easily distractible, though. Right now the blinking "0:00" on the VCR under my monitor is bugging the hell out of me. I want to program the time on it so it stops, but I have no remote.

a better way to study your CER would be to stop perusing SDN at the same time. I can't wait to see you in your surgery rotations..."Doctor, can I slip out for...uh...a drink of water...yeah...? I'm really thirsty."

Good thing he wants to do Anesthesiology. Wireless internet is a good thing. 😉

if everything that was wireless WASN'T, we would have strangled ourselves to death by now.

yet somehow we still manage to.

Bored bored bored bored bored bored. I hate that all I can think about when I am studying for tests is how great it is not to have to study, then when I reach the other side I realize that I have nothing else to occupy my time when wifey isn't around. Bored.

sounds like someone needs some multiplayer Halo action.

Although I always thought it would be fun to set up an X-Box with 4 controllers in the student lounge. I bet no one would go to class.

So I went to my dvd collection to find a funny movie to watch while baking brownies, and I just wanted a short movie. And I must be really tired, because I forgot that I didn't have my Thumb movies. And I really wanted to watch BatThumb. "I'm BatThumb!"

With my 800th post, I would just like to point out that before Prowler cut his hair, he looked alot like a Canadian Prince Valiant.

you should learn. it's only fair. I'm quite adept at putting on and taking bras off, as well as zipping up my own back, thank you very much.
How would you know how to remove a bra? I can do it, one-handed, through a sweater. I've decided that the girls in my class wouldn't find it as amusing as I would though....

Wow... tying a tie is complicated. Sure glad I don't have to wear one. 😀

No worries, as many of us successfully completed our merit badge in knot-tying. I would be completely lost, however, if I were asked to assemble a non-power suit professional outfit for a woman.

do you all like dane cook?

Yeah, what happened? I hear tell you have Puma Man in your collection.

2 problems:
1. I must acquire it from home (45 minute drive one way)
2. I do not currently have a VCR, as it is in VHS format.

I guess I'm the only one with a VCR these days. You kids and your shiny discs, I tell ya...

I've been known to indulge in a little Dane Cook now and again. I am fairly shocked at the backlash he has received due to his popularity.

I don't even have any VHS that I'm dying to watch anyways.

Yeah, I think I got rid of most of my VHS tapes...all but my Pearl Jam bootlegs and my copy of the great American classic, Shaft. I just keep the VCR around for posterity sake, more than anything.

Minus well have an 8-track and a turntable, gramps. How come you're always up so early? You're not going to lecture, and you guys just finished your exams.

I end up getting up at 6 everyday so I can have breakfast with my wife, who goes to work at 7. Nice way to start the day, and it's good training for the ungodly hours we have to keep during clinical rotations.

Oh, and I actually have a smallish record collection, but no turntable as of yet. Waiting until I have a larger house/apt. to pick one up.

I inherited my dad's 45s, and my great-grandma's ginormous 3 speed record player. I'll get it fixed after med school.

Inherited as in both gave. Both are still alive. =)
