I submitted my primary application in Mid-september and I am still waiting for it to be verified. The reason I submitted so late is because I had planned to join the Peace Corps before medical school, but decided later that I only wanted to take a year off. Right now I am teaching English in South Korea, but I am taking a month or so off for interviews.

I am freaking out because everyone is telling me I'm screwed for applying so late. If it wasn't for that, I think I'm a pretty competitive candidate. I took the MCATs last may and got a 37Q. My Underggrad GPA is 3.93 and my science GPA is 3.89. I have good ECs and research experience. Am I still screwed? Please help, I'm really freaking out. I don't want to take another year off! I am pre-writing my secondaries so I can submit them immediately. I am applying to a range of schools, but I am shooting for some pretty competitive ones.
