I am currently working on my dissertation at the NEI in Bethesda and anticipate finishing up to go back to MS3 in July, 2008. My mentor has expressed interest in the possibility of another MD/PhD student joining the lab and I thought I would mention this here in case anyone in this forum has an interest in eye research/ophthalmology. How could you not? Please feel free to send me a message.
I believe that the number of students doing the PhD portion of MD/PhD at the NIH is on the rise (35 currently at the NIH) as has been discussed in previous threads and students can come to the NIH via a number of mechanisms detailed here:
