MD/PhD Students in Pure/Applied Mathematics

I'm just wondering if there are other MD/PhD students/graduates who are doing their PhD in a field of mathematics. I've discussed my experiences with a few students who are applying or who are starting this year, but I'm fairly early in my own program and figure getting advice from students further along might be helpful So, anyone else pursuing pure mathematics/applied mathematics/statistics?

The OP hasn't been on SDN in 2 yrs - you're most likely not going to get a reply. And I have a friend who's doing a more applied math/computational genomics project for her PhD and seems to be moving along fine. Don't know what else can be said.
