Your last post sounded so determined, and you'd already written to/spoken to/faxed so many AMCAS honchos, I'm really hoping you were able to pry some real information loose.

Ok, I got a hold of the Director of Public Relations and she forwarded my information to someone who will look into it. I spoke with her today (Retha something, info on AAMC website) and she said if I don't get a call back by Monday to call her again. This morning I also spoke with the Director of AMCAS (Nancy Tillingham or Tillinsomething). To get a hold of her I called the AAMC number (not the AMCAS number) and said "I would like to speak with someone at the supervisory level about AMCAS issues, do not connect me to a call specialist." Nancy was very nice and I told her I felt my situation was unique that I had not been processed, no buttons, no nothing, all my material in a long time ago, and that even call specialists said it was odd. She took my info and said she would research it and give me a call back. She said they were handling EDPs first, that they hired additional staff to do regular verifications, and that they had a list of people who submitted early that they had on high priority to be verified.

I did send off a letter to Dr. Jordan Cohen, and I also called the NY Times, Washington Post, and LA Times. A health policy staff writer at LA Times is interested in writing a story about the whole AMCAS mess. i just emailed the guy charles, i hope he gets back to me about all this. i have some real **** that he would love.

i also have spoken to nancy. she is very nice and i think that she is Damon Thompsin boss over there. cuz when i called her and spoke to her, Damon called me back 2X on the same day and a week later just to give me an update.
