Hey guys,

Either I accidentally clicked to sign up for the Minority Registry when I registered for the MCAT or something went wrong with AAMC's system and it put me in. I'm not a minority. I called AAMC and there's no way to remove me.

Should I contact schools and let them know this is a system error?

I would inform schools. Much easier to get out ahead of it now rather than going to an interview and them finding out then.

If you put on your app that you are not a minority then they will know you aren't a minority.

The MAR is a recruitment registry for schools to send emails. You don't need to do anything. But if a school does something like waive the application fee for med mar students, don't try to get the waiver.

"I signed up by mistake. How can I remove myself from the registry?
Because this information is automatically released to the institutions, you cannot be removed from the registry once entered. Either disregard information sent to you or simply reply to any emails explaining that your participation was in error. But don't worry—this mistake will not negatively affect your AMCAS application in any way."
