Hey all, good to be here.

I haven't posted before, but I lurk a bit every now and then. Excellent site... and yes I do need to check and see if there is a roll call for Idaho State University class of 2010.

I was just looking for some thoughts from students and practicing pharmacists regarding management of med-sets. I work at a small community pharmacy and we have upwards of twenty med-sets q week (it might not sound like a lot, but it gets stressful with just me and the pharmacist doing them). We take them on because it brings in more business, of course, so not doing them really isn't a viable option.

Basically, storage of the med sets, labeling, anything else you may do that works extremely well. I'm also very understanding if you don't wish to share what you may think to be your own "trade secrets"... 🙂

Thanks all! Happy pharming.

i work for a large chain and only 1 pharmacy i work at that i know of does medi-sets.
It's too labor intensive and there's no way to charge more for the service, so we're stuck. Useful, of course, for transplant and HIV patients.... so that brings in people. We deliver medi-sets every 2 weeks, and get our medi-set trays from drug companies (Gilead and sometimes others.)

The General Hospital where I've worked before also has a medi-set clinic where they have pharmacists and residents fill medi-sets for patients who come in every 2 weeks, but the finances for that program are dwindling, which is a shame...
