I was talking to someone in a health-related field and he asked me how I did on my "MEDCATs". I figured he just didn't know it was "MCATs", but I did a quick search on "MEDCATs" on google.com and found that people actually use this term. Is this regional? Is this an older way of saying "MCAT"? Who actually says this???

old people, I think. 🙂 No offense intended toward anyone. I think it tends to be from the days before it was such a big deal, too.

lol

(necrobump)

Nice necro-bump. Well, to contribute, my socio professor used the term "Med-CAT" twice last class.

my mom calls the MCAT Medcat

Yeah, I had a professor who called it the Medical CAT, which obviously conjured up images of a cat with an MD degree, lol

Know someone who kept asking me about my MedCATs last year. Glad to know she wasn't just being a jerk.

It is cool to see OP is now an attending. I wonder if he ever looks back on this old threads and questions why he ever gave a *@^$ about this.

lol... My biochem teacher was calling it MedCats... imagine a gang-of-cats in medicine... also sounds like a rock group.
She was a cute professor... like a gramma. 🙂
