Medical Academic Deans

    Ok to become an Academic Dean of a Medical School, does one need an M.D. degree?

    No, I don't think it's a requirement, but it's probably beneficial to have a concept of what classes and clerkships/rotations are needed and what goes on in those classes/rotations.

    While it may not be an explicit requirement, I sincerely doubt that any non-MD would ever become dean of a medical school.

    Just my 2 cents...

    At UVM the dean of admissions is a PHD.
