Ok to become an Academic Dean of a Medical School, does one need an M.D. degree?
No, I don't think it's a requirement, but it's probably beneficial to have a concept of what classes and clerkships/rotations are needed and what goes on in those classes/rotations.
While it may not be an explicit requirement, I sincerely doubt that any non-MD would ever become dean of a medical school.
Just my 2 cents...
At UVM the dean of admissions is a PHD.
