I interviewed at MCG in mid December. They are one of my top choices if not my favorite, but I am curious when they will be done accepting? Also, good or bad that I have yet to be rejected or accepted?

If anyone has any details they can give me about MCG, please do. I am very anxious to hear back.

I emailed these same questions to their office about 2 weeks ago. Linda told me they would try to have their invitations for the alternate list sent out by mid April. I too am waiting for news, but I guess being put on the alternate list is better than a flat out rejection.

well thats kind of depressing. Did linda tell you how many places in the class, if any at all, are left? It kinda sounds like they're through accepting people and now they are just rejecting and placing people on the waitlist.

Does anyone know anything about their waitlist? How big is it, is it ranked, how many people auctually get off it?

I didn't receive any specifics as to the number of people that will be offered alternate list spots, but she did say they had a fairly active alternate list. I guess that is supposed to mean there is a good bit of movement over to the "other side".

Ya, that is what I understand. She did tell me that they have such a large class that it takes longer to finish accepting, so its not over yet. Most likely one to two more weeks max though. She also said that they normally pull 70 to 90 off the waitlist.

Are there any MCG students out there that may know more?

Does anyone know the specifics of MCG's waitlist? i.e. Is it ranked? When is ranking finalized? Will they tell you where you are ranked?

Ok this is crazy. its mid april and no word from MCG. I guess they are recuperating from the Masters this weekend but geez we gots to be making some plans. Last year i applied and got rejected first of april.
This year, I have yet to hear....It seems like they are running a few weeks later this year. Don't know why. Geez i sure am a lot of help.

I got a letter from mcg this weekend telling me I was waitlisted. It was dated april 5th and stated that they were through looking at applicants for this year. From what I understand, this means that they sent a final batch of letters off at the beginning of the month or so which include rejections, waitlists, and acceptances. A friend of mine got his MCG rejection letter saturday as well, so everyone should hear something soon. as far as the waitlist goes, about 35-40% usually gets accepted from it, and it is already moving....that is, regular accepance is over and people are being accepted from the waitlist.

It sucks that they wont tell you where you are on this list, but them's the breaks I guess. If anyone knows anything else, please post. I wonder if the call or send a letter to the people taken off the list? that would be useful info...

The list is ranked and as of now it is "set in stone". you cant do anything to change your position one way or another, or so i'm told.

I haven't heard ANYTHING from MCG -- I interviewed back in November. It seems weird that the letter was dated April 4 -- thats a long time to be sitting around somewhere....Anyway, I'm at the point now where I almost DON'T want to know, just cause I'm afraid it will be bad news. yeesh.

Did anyone get an acceptance over the weekend??

I don't know anything about the waitlist, except that they usually offer about eighty acceptances to people on it. I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK to everyone!

AUGUST??? They must have lost it or something weird. Have you called them?

On a side note, I got rejected. I am just curious, why did they wait five months to reject me. It seems that to carry me out this far they would be looking to waitlist or something, but a rejection it seems they could have decided a long time ago!

Oh wait thats right, a premed's time means nothing. I forget these things some times. I just need to hope that one of these waitlists comes through for me.

I don't think adcoms understand what they put students through when they make them wait this long...I'm sorry to hear about your rejection PMED99 -- I am sure the waitlists will come through. As soon as the mcg waitlist starts moving, it will probably open up spots at Mercer and other schools. Anyway, best of luck to all -- I'll post if I hear anything!

I am at my wits end trying to hold out on this list. But, I will make it. Yall keep me informed of what anyone knows about Mercer's waitlist.

I called MCG this morning and was told that everything was mailed out last week -- i.e. all decisions have been made. We should hear something this week for sure. Good luck!

Just got the letter today -- I'm on the waitlist. Guess I'll ride it out for a couple of months.

People have been saying 70-90 people will get off the waitlist but I remember them telling us on interview day it was more like 40-50 people. Does anybody else remember being told that? I hope its the larger number obviously -- but I just don't want to get my hopes up too much. Any thoughts?

i just got the wait list letter today as well. does anyone know anything about the alternate list....please post it. i know its ranked..so does this mean that i am way low on the ranking since i am just now getting the letter..lower than someone who got on the alternate list say a month ago. it seems like that would be the case, unless they rank us after everyone has been placed on the list. please post your knowledge.
