I got my financial aid award from an allo school today and one of my cost items was a whopping $1050 for "medical equipment" for first semester. Does anyone mind filling me in on what the heck this means? I mean, stethescope, ok, maybe a flashlight, ok, but what am I going to do with the other $750? I'm not buying my own surgical kit, yknow? Any current students that understand what this mysterious fee is and could shed light on it, and if I should really budget for all of it, would be appreciated...

Diagnostic Kit. Reflex Hammer. Tuning Forks. Penlight. Stethoscope. If you get the best-of-the-best of each, it can easily run a grand. Just take the money, and if you don't need it all, repay it during the grace period.
