Fun fact:
The state of Vermont waives the license fee to active duty military. This may save you a few bucks when the time comes.

No. One has nothing to do with the other. Get whatever state's medical license you wish and that you are eligible for. Nebraska also waives their q2yr renewal fee for AD .mil the last I knew.

Yes, I'm aware of that. The question was "Does the state I license have to be the state I take step 3 in". The location in which you take step 3 in is irrelevant to what state one gets a license from. That was what I was referring to.
