I wanted to determine whether differences in medical prestige make a difference in match lists. Specifically, does a school like Yale, with "lower" medical prestige (as determined by PD reputation score when compared to Penn, Harvard, and Hopkins) have worse match outcomes in plastic surgery and neurosurgery. I used Einstein as a control for a non top 10 program.
Results: T10 match prospects are basically interchangeable, but prestige does matter when comparing different tiers.
