I suggest these schools with your stats:
Virginia Commonwealth
Eastern Virginia
Virginia Tech
West Virginia
Wake Forest
NOVA MD
TCU-UNT
Medical College Wisconsin
Oakland Beaumont
Wayne State
George Washington
Drexel
Temple
Jefferson
Seton Hall
New York Medical College
Albany
Vermont
Quinnipiac
You could also try the 3 SC state public schools with your connection to SC.
Also apply to DO schools and I suggest these:
CUSOM
VCOM (all schools except Monroe)
ACOM
MU-COM
DMU-COM
ATSU-KCOM
KCU-COM
PCOM (all schools)
LECOM (all schools)

Hi all! I am curious about my chances for admission into an MD program.
  • Virginia Resident
  • Honors College at the University of South Carolina
  • Biological Sciences Major, Health Promotion Education and Behavior Minor
Stats:
  • GPA: 3.9, Science GPA: 3.77
  • MCAT: 505 (Chem- 125, Bio-126, p/s- 126, CARS- 128)
Extracurriculars:
  • On the Dance Team- over 2000 hours
  • Colon Cancer Research- 1750 hours
  • Gives health education presentations to freshman through Student Health Services ~120 hours
  • Dance Marathon Volunteer for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals ~80 hours
  • Shadowing/Volunteer internship (got cut early due to COVID 19) ~ 100 hours
  • 4 different grants funding research, publication in progress
Other Information:
  • SES EO1 Disadvantaged
  • Both Parents diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer, Father passed away when I was 16
  • Graduated High School in 3 years at the age of 17
Also I am unsure of my first generation status. Neither of my parents attended a 4 year college, my mom has an associates degree
Any advice on how to improve my application/where to apply?
Thank you!
Chances of acceptance are 100% on you. Chances for interviews are suggesting these schools:
Seton Hall
Tulane
Temple (maybe)
SLU (maybe)
WVU
Oakland U Beaumont
Wayne State
MCW

Loma Linda (only if you are SDA or a very devout Christian)

Loyola
Rosy Franklin
TCU/UNT
Uniformed Services University/Hebert (just be aware of the military service commitment)
Your state school(s).
Any DO school. I can't recommend Nova, Wm Carey, BCOM, ICOM and LUCOM, for different reasons. MSUCOM? Read up on Larry Nasser and you decide. LMU has an accreditation warning, which concerns me. CUHS is too new and appears to be too limited in rotations sites. UIW refuses to post their Boards scores, which is fishy.
