So I've gotten into my state school and several more competitive private schools and I'm having trouble making a decision. How much does school reputation really matter in terms of securing a competitive residency? The state school (TN) has an excellent reputation for letting third and fourth years get incredible hands on experience, especially in emergency medicine which is what I'm looking at. I guess my question is would it be more beneficial to attend a competitive program ranked nationally in the top 30 or to attend my state school where I am sure to get more hands on experience (imagine money is not an issue). I'm lost here so any and all opinions are welcomed. Thanks.

Go to Vandy, it's awesome. I'd be more concerned about my exp in med school. Reputation helps but you really should focus on where you would be most happy.
